Halloween

Ever since Jaden was 2 we have always trick or treated with the same group of friends at a local strip mall or a cool neighborhood. Halloween fell on a Saturday this year and my friend Katie invited us all over to her house for dinner and a Halloween party before trick or treating in their neighborhood. Bryson was a fireman this year, here he is playing with the glow sticks.

Griffin, Katie's son, was Batman.
Jaden was the Incredible Hulk (here he is without his mask), his suit blows up to make him look extra buff!
Dinner time.
I made these little owls for all the kids this year.
The group getting ready to go out. Jaden's buddy Kellen (Griffin's older brother) was also Batman and Kailee was Super Girl.

The kids had a blast trick or treating in their neighborhood and got so much candy! Many houses were passing out full-size candy bars! SCORE!

I thought this picture was funny of Kailee and Kellen on the couch after trick or treating grubbing down on their candy!

pumpkin carving

Jaden has finally reached the age that pumpkin guts don't freak him out! No more pumpkin gut torture for him anymore. Love Todd's cheshire grin in this pic. I believe Todd was a little disappointed that J is no longer afraid of pumpkin guts!
Grandpa Wayne and Grandma Jane joined us for carving the pumpkins this year.
Bryson is not a huge fan of the guts.
So he used an ice cream scoop to get them out.
Look at my brave Jaden:)
Our finished pumpkins.
Lit them with battery operated candles, one of which was blue!

Preprimary Pumpkin Patch Field Trip 2009

On a very wet and rainy Friday (October 23rd) was the annual preprimary pumpkin patch field trip at the boys' school. This would be Jaden's last year on the field trip as 1st graders on up don't go to the pumpkin patch. It was also Bryson's first year going as an actual member of the school (although he has also gone the last 2 years as Todd and I both always chaperone this trip). This year they had so many parent volunteers that their teachers didn't need us to drive any other kids, so we relaxed at our house for awhile in the morning before leaving.

We met up with Jaden's buddy Graison and his parents and the boys had a blast going on rides and hanging with eachother all day. The rain didn't bother them a bit!

This year they had HUGE pumpkins to choose from as we left the park (usually you just get tiny ones). It was a fun day, we decided to eat the lunch that I packed for us in the car on the way home since it was so soggy out!

Bryson turns 3!

Bryson's birthday fell on a Monday this year so he got to do his birthday circle at preschool on his actual birthday! I love the way they do birthday celebrations at his school. Here's Bryson putting the wooden "sun" in the center of the birthday mat at circle.
Then he placed wooden signs of each of the season's on the globes depicted on the mat (near the globes was a drawing representing each season). One of his classmates helped Bryson place the signs.

Then Bryson chose the sandpaper globe to walk around the circle with while everyone says, "The earth goes around the sun and then Bryson turned 1" I brought in a collage of pictures demonstrating each of Bryson's 3 years and I showed the pictures of his 1st year. Then he walked around the circle 2 more times until the earth had traveled around the sun 3 times for each of Bryson's 3 years.
Then Bryson cleaned up the birthday circle mat.
He passed around napkins to all of his classmates and his friend passed around the cookies we brought and everyone sang Happy Birthday to him:)

Bryson 3 years old in the same chair we took all of his monthly pictures in.
3 going on 10!
He wanted to go to Luna Park Cafe for his birthday dinner, he loves the batman ride!

After dinner Jaden gave Bryson the present he picked out for him, a batman helicopter!
Happy 3rd birthday baby boy!

Bryson's Fireman Birthday Party

Last year at the Montessori school auction I bid on and won a fireman birthday party which I planned on using for Bryson's 3rd birthday. This summer Erin and I decided to do a joint party with Bryson and Evan since their birthdays are only 3 days apart. After several scheduling issues (not going to get into them here) we booked a date Sunday, October 18th to celebrate their birthdays fireman style!

On Saturday, Erin and I made the boys a firetruck cake.

After arriving at the firestation at the scheduled time we were informed that the firemen had no idea that a birthday party was scheduled that day (even though it was clearly written on their board). In fact, the fire engine and most of the firemen weren't even at the firestation! After that rocky start, it was actually pretty cool to see the firemen come back into the station. Then we started the tour.

Another fireman demonstrated how to slide down the firepole (is that totally an 80's jacket that he is sportin' or is just me!)
Mighty B wanted to try, so Nana helped.

Everyone got a turn to sit in the firetruck. Jaden

All the kids loved their fireman hats!
Amy took this picture of Bryson and it is my favorite one of the day, thanks Amy!

Kailee enjoyed the cake!
After cake it was pinata time!

I somehow don't have a picture of it but Jaden went last and beat that firetruck pinata until the candy came out! The best part picking up all candy!
