Lowest tide of the season

On Tuesday June 23rd, my dad and I took the boys to Constellation park to explore the tide pools. I have never seen the tide that low before, it was amazing. Last year the boys and I explored a really low tide there but it was freezing out so this was much more pleasant. Even though I was feeling under-the-weather, unbeknownst to me I had the flu!

Looking out towards Puget Sound!
And turning around looking back, Jaden navigating the rocks.
On our way out to the tide pools Bryson was eating some cheese, started coughing and then puked! Not sure if he had a touch of the flu or just had too much in his mouth:(
Luckily, he recovered quickly and really enjoyed seeing all the tide pool creatures (hopefully he didn't harm any of them by barfing on them)!
J has his buckets and is ready to explore!
Bryson touching a seastar, he was good about using just 1 finger like I told him:)
We saw a ton of purple seastars.
Red sea anemone

There were a lot of people there since it was such a beautiful day! It's nice to explore at this beach since Aquarium naturalists come and answer questions and help out.
Looking back towards the street/houses.
My dad and the boys:) I'm so glad that my dad just retired, it is so fun to have him around to hang out with and the boys love it!
Bryson started freaking out because he had sand stuck on his hands so I told him to rinse it off in the water. Step 1: rinse
Step 2: clean hands!
Step 3: run through the warm tidepool water
Step 4: fall in the water
Step 5: sit down:)
The aquarium docent gave Jaden a magnifying glass and he LOVED it! He had so much looking at all the details on the shells!
Looking towards that condominium on stilts that most of the time has water under it!

Before leaving the boys and my dad had to search under a few more rocks before leaving, they spotted a bunch of baby crabs which quickly crawled away for safety.
